You have a gift – given to you by the Lord. Some women almost never use this special gift. Others share it generously with those around them almost all the time. It may seem like a small thing. But it is one of the most powerful ways you can bless others.

Your beautiful, glorious smile!

Your smile can literally light up the room emotionally and spiritually. There is nothing more beautiful than a woman who is genuinely full of the joy of the Lord and whose smile radiates His love.

It doesn’t take much time. It costs you nothing. (You may not want to use this gift when you are walking on the street among strangers. And it is probably not wise to smile too much at men who are not available to you – you could send a signal you are romantically interested if you go overboard with this.) But with your boyfriend, family, friends, coworkers, and people at church, you have the ability to bless them greatly in this simple little way.

AN EXPERIMENT

Try smiling brightly, just to bless others, this week. Smile a big smile when you first see people. Like when you first get to work. And when you get off of work and you see your family, friends, or your guy. Think of it as giving them a gift. Then when people are talking with you, and it is not about something serious or sad, consciously smile at them as they are speaking with a friendly smile. Or when you are home and you walk into a room where your Dad is or your little brother – smile at them and think about how blessed you are that they are in your life.

This is one of the best ways we can demonstrate our love for others and show them we appreciate them and that we are glad they are in our lives. Most of us don’t realize it, but we often don’t smile very much. We may come across to others as if we are upset, moody, indifferent, or uninterested if we are not smiling.

Sit and receive God’s love for you and His smile toward you. Let Him renew your soul. Rest in His love and goodness. Focus on things you are thankful for and things you want to praise God for. We have so many blessings! Think about good things:

  • Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Phil. 4:8

As you focus on God’s goodness and receive His love, drawing near to Him, you will have a genuine, radiating smile. You will have His peace and joy. It will overflow from you into the lives of everyone you meet. Then, share that beautiful smile of yours with those around you.
